Multidisciplinary Artist | Information Designer | Machine Learning Practitioner | Strategic Creative: Mr. Dyshann Anderson
Hartford, Connecticut, USA, born 1974

Dyshann Anderson is an American multidisciplinary artist and strategic visual communicator whose work unites fine art, information design, print media, and data-driven problem solving. His creative practice is rooted in a deep respect for craft and a rigorous commitment to analytical precision — bridging expressive artistic inquiry with structured design methodologies.

Anderson holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a Master of Arts in Information Design from Central Connecticut State University. He is also certified through the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Institute for Data, Systems, and Society (MIT-IDSS) in Data Science and Machine Learning (DSML), equipping him with advanced analytical tools to visualize complex systems and integrate machine-learning insights into creative problem-solving and design workflows. This blends seamlessly with his adoption of a Lean Six Sigma mindset, applying iterative evaluation, operational efficiency, and evidence-based decision-making across both artistic and strategic domains.

Anderson’s work explores cultural identity, social systems, and the structures that shape urban experience. His visual practice spans painting, printmaking, graphic design, and typographic experimentation — as well as information graphics and strategic storytelling. He synthesizes aesthetic sensibility with data-informed clarity, crafting work that is as rigorous as it is expressive.

His creative vision is interwoven with a legacy of public presence and community impact. Anderson is the grandson of Dr. Jacqui Anderson, a respected Hartford civic leader whose contributions to public education and community advocacy left an enduring imprint on the city’s cultural fabric. He is also a descendant of Marietta Canty, the Hartford-born American actress whose career in film and theater in the early 20th century exemplified perseverance and representation amid constrained opportunities.

Inspired by this lineage, Anderson’s work is both art and infrastructure — informed by systems thinking, grounded in cultural narrative, and aimed at advancing visual understanding and social dialogue. He continues to develop bodies of work that resonate across institutions, public spaces, and digitally mediated environments while contributing to initiatives that strengthen art, design, and civic engagement in Connecticut and beyond.

Mr. Anderson’s interests include Fine Art, Photography, project management, design, and print production. Continuing education is the foundation of his color-rich daydream style, and he gains inspiration from Gustav Klimt, Paul Goodnight, Paul Cézanne, Edgar Degas, Henry Ossawa Tanner, and Zuzana Licko.

Over the last twenty years, Mr. Anderson has met challenges in commercial printing and graphic design, as well as in training, planning, and organizing his foundations to make a difference in Connecticut. His motivation is to produce creative design and help revitalize Connecticut’s art culture through his own and his allies’ exhibits. Anderson hopes to inspire local artists to challenge themselves. Doing this will establish a strong tradition for the Arts in Connecticut.

Launched in 2006, Dyshann Anderson is responsible for Aquastone Graphic Arts & Print’s overall project management, directing business intelligence marketing, designing, and art direction.
